September Updates from OEDP
Here's what OEDP has been up to recently, plus: reading lists, opportunities, and more!
Event Frenzy!
As always, the fall-time brings a mad-dash of events. Here are just a few of our recent and upcoming events.

PEDP-ers had a chance to meet and strategize in-person in Oakland, CA last week. Such a fun and generative time! We’re excited to build on this momentum as we continue archiving at-risk datasets and develop new tools and initiatives.
Last week, OEDP also co-hosted and led the Future of Open Environmental Data convening at The Kapor Center. We brought together a cross-sector group of researchers, community leaders, data stewards, technologists, civil society advocates, government stakeholders, and funders to chart a course toward resilient, just, and open environmental data systems.
Digitcore Co-PI Gwen Ottinger presented on the DIGITCORE toolkit at 4S 2025 in Seattle! Stay tuned, we’re launching the toolkit next month 👀

On October 8, OEDP is hosting a demo and workshop to dive into all things data governance through the Community Data Playbook and our Resource Library! During the workshop, we will: give a primer on the Playbook, test out a few Plays, launch & demo our Resource Library, and provide space for feedback and ideas.
This workshop is designed for people working with community-generated environmental data: as a data steward, collector, analyst, researcher, technologist, or scientist. Even if you’re just community environmental data-curious, please join us!
